Commission to double the size of Hibiscus Private Hospital in Port Shepstone by adding a new first floor level plus rooftop parking.
An extensive redevelopment converting the 80 bed Hibiscus Private Hospital into 130 beds. Practically every part of the hospital was expanded or refurbished and doubled in size by adding a new first floor level over the existing footprint, plus rooftop parking and services.
The hospital continued to operate during the redevelopment which meant that construction was completed in stages.
The new first floor level included new Medical and Paediatric Wards, ICU, Administration, Stretcher Lift, Staff Dining & Outdoor Deck, and a full rooftop parking deck.
Refurbishment of the existing ground floor included the Maternity and Surgical Wards, Coffee Shop, Reception and Administration, with a new Pharmacy, Kitchen, and Laundry.
